My name is Alma Geraghty and I’m Vice Chairperson at Áirc Midlands.
My background is in the sports sector and I have an Honours Degree in Business and Sports Management. Through my studies I found my passion in the sector of sports with additional needs. I have experience working with older adults coaching and training a special needs soccer team and I have also participated in some one on one work with children of all abilities. I got involved in Áirc in 2015 and have been an active member since.
I have met the most amazing and inspirational children and families and have made friends for life. I feel very grateful to be part of Áirc and I am extremely excited for the future of the organisation. I have learned so much from my time with the Áirc families about the value of inclusion and I am looking forward to working with them in the future to develop activities that will involve every single member of Áirc.
We are working hard now to try and learn exactly how to bring Áirc to the point of absolute inclusion. We are committed to never allowing any child to be left behind. Its a daunting task but with everyone’s input we know we can achieve it.
