Hi my name is Theresa and I've recently become Co-Chairperson alongside Áirc founder Angela.
I am the mother to an amazing little boy called Jude who is 5 years old. Jude is so funny and crazy and ALWAYS up to some kind of mischief. He is my whole world and I'm so lucky to have him he is all I ever wanted and more.
Jude was diagnosed with ASD and global developmental delay high risk for intellectual disability and later diagnosed with chromosome 3 deletion and chromosome 22 duplication.
I found Áirc last year when my son was going through a difficult time, he was struggling socially to mix with kids as he can't speak and also because of delays with his motor skills can't do a lot of things that his peers can. We went along to an Áirc event and felt so welcomed and Jude loved being around children of all different abilities and it was a real sense of community.
When I heard Áirc was setting up a committee in Mullingar I jumped at the chance to be involved. I've made some great friends and we've achieved a lot in a few short months. I'm overwhelmed by the support we have received from the local community and businesses it has been truly amazing. We have a fantastic group of committee members across the Midlands and I'm excited to see what we will do together in the future.
